Sahel Peace Dialogues

The event, co-organized with Ronald Niezen, sought to connect peacebuilding efforts transnationally (Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso) and across tribes during our Sahel Peace Dialogues, held March 1-6, 2020 at McGill University’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism in Montreal, Canada.

Fleur de Lis Camp & Bereavement Circle

Four generations of my family have attended and thrived at Fleur de Lis summer camp for girls. The camp now offers a free week at the end of the summer for girls who recently lost a parent. I work with the camp as a counselor and lifeguard for the bereavement camp and serve as a corporation member.

Projects with Ronald Niezen

Ronald Niezen and I met on a genocide panel at an anthropology conference. A short lunch turned into an 11 hour conversation that eventually resulted in a marriage and a wide range of professional collaboration from the Sahel Peace Dialogues to our book addressing the place of narrative in the aftermath of mass atrocity.
