Conflict Resolution
Unlike many academic fields, conflict resolution encourages engagement with the world. Active projects make sure that our work is grounded in lived experience and serves those working towards peace in their communities.

Sahel Peace Dialogues
The event, co-organized with Ronald Niezen, sought to connect peacebuilding efforts transnationally (Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso) and across tribes during our Sahel Peace Dialogues, held March 1-6, 2020 at McGill University’s Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism in Montreal, Canada.
Fleur de Lis Camp & Bereavement Circle
Four generations of my family have attended and thrived at Fleur de Lis summer camp for girls. The camp now offers a free week at the end of the summer for girls who recently lost a parent. I work with the camp as a counselor and lifeguard for the bereavement camp and serve as a corporation member.
Projects with Ronald Niezen
Ronald Niezen and I met on a genocide panel at an anthropology conference. A short lunch turned into an 11 hour conversation that eventually resulted in a marriage and a wide range of professional collaboration from the Sahel Peace Dialogues to our book addressing the place of narrative in the aftermath of mass atrocity.
